ABOUT ME

I am a mixed media fine artist who uses paint, collage and video to explore archetypes and folklore and how this relates to psychology in the contemporary world. My art work is influenced by the spiritual and psychological writing of Carl Jung, and the philosophy of Alan Watts, and Jordon Peterson. His painting style explores the place where Christianity and paganism intersect, with equal nods to Russia Orthodox Icon Painting, and the occult leanings of artist Austin Osman Spare. Although my work on a surface level borrows heavily from dominant religious hegemonic narratives, it digs deep into our collective pagan subconscious and explores a place where the two dualism can co-exist in harmony.
I am interested in Sculptural form which draw heavily from folklore. These bespoke items are made from recycled found materials which are covered in wall filler, and subsequently sculpted, painted and treated.
I use video as a modern day canvas using traditional rotoscoping techniques and painterly methods using an Apple Pencil and iPad as tools. I make original music to complement my musical videos.
